Jerusalem, 1 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot has agreed to explore forming a government with United Torah Judaism and Ra’am abstaining, while Ra’am’s Jewish MK Yoav Segalovitz would actively support the coalition, Israeli media reported Sunday.

Eisenkot’s bloc does not want negotiations with the Arab Joint List Party but assumes it would not oppose the arrangement. Joint List MK Ahmad Tibi has said his party wants to bring down Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and would extend whatever support is asked of it.

Under the proposed arrangement, Eisenkot’s bloc would have 49 seats should Segalovitz support the government, while Netanyahu’s bloc would be down to 46 if United Torah Judaism leaves the coalition bloc.

This could also serve as leverage in unity-government negotiations with Netanyahu.

However, the proposal faces significant opposition within Eisenkot’s camp, as Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Liberman has explicitly rejected any government relying directly or indirectly on Arab or Haredi parties.
