Arson Suspected in Jerusalem Apartment Fire, Seven Injured, One Policewoman
Jerusalem police are investigating a suspected arson at a residential apartment that injured seven people, including a policewoman, due to smoke inhalation.
Jerusalem, 14 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Jerusalem police opened An investigation Monday into the suspected arson of a residential apartment during the night.
Seven people suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation, including a female police officer who was assisting victims at the scene.
Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to the apartment and managed to contain and extinguish the blaze. Officers from the Moriah Police Station in the Jerusalem District arrived at the scene and are collecting evidence to determine the circumstances of the fire and the suspected arson.
All seven injured individuals are in mild condition. As their injuries are minor and resulted from smoke inhalation, hospital treatment generally consists of oxygen and brief monitoring, and they are expected to be released home soon.
