Jerusalem District police officers arrested a suspect who stole a sick dog from its home and returned it to its owner. Yesterday, a report was received at the police hotline regarding a suspected trespass into a residential home in the Gilo neighborhood.
Jerusalem police arrested a man in his 60s for stealing a sick dog and suspected animal cruelty, returning the pet to its owner.
The complainant provided additional details to the officers of the Moriah station that she managed to obtain, which aided in the investigation and led to the identification of the suspect. In a swift operation, the station’s officers located the dog and safely returned her to her owner in an emotional reunion held at the station. Suspicion also arose that the dog had been abused. The suspect, in his 60s, was arrested by the officers and transferred for investigation at the Moriah station on suspicion of trespassing, theft, and animal cruelty. Subsequently, depending on the development of the investigation, his detention will be brought for an extension hearing at the Magistrate’s Court.
