TPS: Electric Scooter Catches Fire as Passenger Exits Train Car in Tel Aviv
An electric scooter ignited on a Tel Aviv train platform Tuesday, but prompt response by Israel Railways and firefighters ensured no injuries.
Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An electric scooter caught fire early Tuesday as its owner was exiting a train car at Tel Aviv’s HaHagana station, Israel Railways reported.
The train conductor responded quickly, following safety protocols to move the scooter away from the train, and firefighters called to the scene extinguished it. No injuries were reported.
The train resumed service after required inspections confirmed the car was undamaged.
Israel Railways reiterated that charging scooters or electric bikes at the train’s power outlets is strictly prohibited, citing passenger safety.
