Jerusalem, 3 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Hundreds of Israeli police officers, Border Police fighters, and enforcement personnel launched a major operation in Umm al-Fahm and surrounding areas against Arab crime organizations, just as a possible change of government looms after the October 27 vote.
The operation is overseen by Coastal District Police Commander Maj. Gen. Yehiel Bohadana, Investigations and Intelligence Division chief Boaz Blat, Menashe District Commander Brig. Gen. Roni Fares, and Roi Kahlon, head of the Prime Minister’s Office task force combating Arab-sector crime.
Participating agencies include the Tax Authority, State Attorney’s Office, Shin Bet, National Insurance Institute, Israel Land Authority, and several government ministries and regulators.
Police say the operation aims to arrest major crime figures, dismantle the economic infrastructure financing criminal activity, strengthen law enforcement, and improve public safety. Authorities described it as a nationally significant campaign.
