Jerusalem, 2 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s RedHill Biopharma said Monday that two European research centers have confirmed the ability of its experimental Crohn’s disease drug RHB-204 to kill a bacterium potentially linked to the inflammatory bowel disease.

Laboratory studies conducted by researchers at City St George’s University of London and Queen’s University Belfast found the drug performed comparably to RedHill’s earlier candidate, RHB-104. A Phase 3 trial of RHB-104 showed a statistically significant 64% improvement over standard treatment alone.

RHB-204 is designed to offer improved tolerability and fewer side effects. The Israeli company said the findings support preparations for a potential Phase 2 trial targeting patients with MAP-positive Crohn’s disease.
