Jerusalem, 22 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Train travel across Israel will be free from Monday at 8 p.m. through the end of public transportation operations on Tuesday’s election day, Israel Railways announced. Because Israelis vote at designated polling stations based on their registered address, some voters may need to travel to another city to cast their ballots.

Passengers must obtain paper tickets from station machines rather than using Israel’s public transportation smart card or payment apps. Israel Railways will also increase service on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv line, operating three trains per hour in each direction between noon and 8 p.m.
