Jerusalem, 14 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Central Elections Committee Chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg on Wednesday rejected claims that Israel’s upcoming elections could be stolen, insisting that the electoral process is governed by safeguards designed to protect its integrity.

His remarks come amid heightened political tensions ahead of the October 27 Knesset elections, with concerns over election procedures and the reliability of the vote becoming part of the public debate.

Sohlberg, who is responsible for overseeing the election process, emphasized that the system includes mechanisms for supervising voting and counting ballots. His comments addressed public concerns about the possibility of election manipulation as parties prepare for the final stretch of campaigning.

The Central Elections Committee oversees the conduct of national elections, including polling arrangements and the counting process.
