Jerusalem, 9 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF will deploy hundreds of stationary and mobile ballot boxes across operational sectors and military units next week, allowing soldiers to vote ahead of Israel’s October 27 Knesset elections.
According to Israeli media, the military is preparing an expanded voting operation to ensure service members can exercise their democratic right while carrying out their duties.
Voting will begin as early as October 20 in units authorized to hold early elections for operational reasons. Mobile ballot boxes will travel between designated units and locations, including areas where troops are deployed on missions. Each military polling station will be staffed by two trained soldiers responsible for verifying voters’ identities.
After voting concludes, sealed ballot boxes will be transferred to the Central Elections Committee at the Knesset, which will oversee the counting process independently of the military.
