Jerusalem, 11 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Central Election Committee Chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg ordered National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Sunday to remove a video filmed inside a prison cell. The clip showed Ben Gvir speaking with two inmates who had attempted to harm him, while discussing his administration’s prison policies.

The ruling follows a petition by the Movement for Quality Government in Israel, which alleged the footage breached legal bans against utilizing public assets—such as state prison facilities—for political election propaganda.

Justice Sohlberg noted the footage closely mirrored a previous campaign video ordered taken down last week. Blurring the faces of guards and prisoners did not remedy the violation, prompting the immediate injunction.
