Jerusalem, 9 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Three men, including a 22-year-old Palestinian illegally residing in Israel and two residents of Shefa-Amr aged 22 and 24, were indicted Friday in Haifa District Court for possessing a stolen IDF Matador shoulder-fired missile.
Police discovered the advanced weapon on September 5 in an open area near Shefa-Amr during an operation involving Northern District officers, Border Police special forces and the Yagel unit.
Investigators from the Galilee Central Unit found that the suspects had filmed and photographed themselves holding the stolen missile. The footage reportedly helped investigators identify and arrest the third suspect. Police believe the weapon may have reached the men amid violent feuds between criminal organizations in the region.
The prosecution has requested that all three defendants remain in custody until the conclusion of their trials.
