Jerusalem, 28 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF announced Wednesday that it had eliminated Ahmed Muhammad Ahmed Baraka, a Nukhba terrorist in Hamas’s military wing, in southern Gaza last Thursday. Baraka participated in the October 7, 2023, abduction of Israeli civilians from Kibbutz Nir Oz, including historian Alex Dancyg. During the war, he also helped hold numerous hostages in southern Gaza, including soldier Nimrod Cohen.
The IDF said Baraka was involved in Hamas’s hostage-holding operations throughout the conflict.
In a separate strike in northern Gaza over the weekend, Israeli forces eliminated two additional Hamas terrorists: Omar Awadallah, a Nukhba platoon commander, and Muataz Mahmoud Muhammad al-Nimr, a Nukhba operative.
According to the IDF, both men carried out terrorist attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and worked to rebuild Hamas’s military capabilities during the war and more recently.
