Jerusalem, 11 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The historic boutique hotel Beit Shalom in Metula has reopened its doors after remaining closed for an extended period because of damage sustained during fighting along Israel’s northern border.
The hotel, housed in the historic stone buildings of the founding Hod-Paine family on HaRishonim Street, underwent a year-long restoration and renovation. Its guest rooms and couples’ suites are now welcoming visitors again, and its chef restaurant, initially operating as a café, is serving breakfast and nostalgic family cakes prepared from owner Miriam Hod’s recipes.
The complex also features an art gallery, offering lectures about the hotel’s history and the Metula community.
Beit Shalom’s reopening marks an important step toward restoring tourism and normal life to the north as Metula marks 130 years since its founding.
