TPS: 20,000 Runners in 14th Annual Druze Memorial Race in Lower Galilee
Approximately 20,000 participants joined the 14th annual Druze Memorial Race in Lower Galilee, commemorating fallen Druze and IDF soldiers.
Jerusalem, 18 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Around 20,000 people took part on Friday in the 14th annual “For the Boys” race commemorating fallen members of Israel’s Druze community in the Kfar Hittin area of the Lower Galilee. The event, held near the Golani Junction, also honored IDF soldiers, reservists, and security personnel.
Participants included bereaved families, students, military personnel, police, firefighters and civilians from across Israel, including Police Commissioner Chief Superintendent Danny Levy and Northern District Commander Major General Meir Eliyahu.
The event featured 5- and 10-kilometer running races, a 25-kilometer cycling route and a 3-kilometer walking course.
The event comes ahead of the completion of the 220-kilometer “Path of the Sons,” a memorial trail planned to connect Druze communities in the Carmel and Galilee with Nabi Shu’ayb (Jethro’s tomb), a religious shrine west of Tiberias, in the Lower Galilee.
