Israel Extends Open-Fire Restrictions Amid Extreme Conditions
Israel Fire and Rescue Commissioner Eyal Caspi has extended a nationwide ban on lighting fires in open areas through September 30.
Jerusalem, 14 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Fire and Rescue Commissioner Lt. Col. Eyal Caspi extended a ban on lighting fires in open areas through midnight Sept. 30, citing extreme conditions that increase Wildfire Risks. The ban applies nationwide, except for areas in the far south, south of Highways 25 and 34, stretching from the Gaza-border area near Nahal Oz to the Arava Junction.
Barbecues and other fires inside designated facilities remain permitted.
