Jerusalem, 16 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel saw a 37% increase in residential rooftop solar systems connected to the electricity grid during the first half of 2026, according to data from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.

Nearly 5,000 residential systems were connected between January and June, compared with about 3,600 during the same period in 2025. Over the 12 months through June, roughly 9,800 systems were connected, up from about 7,400 a year earlier.

More Than 41,000 Israeli households now have rooftop solar systems. If the first-half connection rate continues, about 10,000 additional systems could be connected by the end of 2026, potentially setting a new annual record.

The ministry launched its “100,000 Roofs” initiative in 2025 to expand residential renewable-energy generation.
