Jerusalem, 9 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported significant increases in foreign trade price indices for the second quarter of 2026 (April – June). The export price index for refined petroleum products rose 35.3%, while energy import prices climbed 44.9%.
Excluding ships, aircraft, and diamonds, the broader commodity export price index rose 3.8%, accelerating from a 1.8% Increase in the previous quarter. The corresponding import price index, excluding energy materials as well, rose 1.7%, up from 1.1% in the prior quarter.
The terms of trade index, which measures the ratio of export to import price changes, rose 2.0% in the same period, indicating a relative improvement in Israel’s trade position excluding energy and major asset categories.
