Jerusalem, 6 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The United Arab Emirates has canceled Israir’s planned rescue flight From Dubai to Tel Aviv on Thursday, leaving Israeli passengers stranded and raising fresh concerns over the continuation of the repatriation operation.

Israir notified passengers that the UAE authorities had unilaterally revoked permits previously granted for flight 6H662, scheduled for October 8. The airline said it was working with Israeli and Emirati authorities to determine whether the flight could operate as planned or whether an alternative could be arranged.

Another update is expected Wednesday morning.

The cancellation comes amid growing tensions over security arrangements for Israeli Rescue Flights following last week’s attempted hijacking of a FlyDubai flight to Tel Aviv. Israel has demanded enhanced security measures at Dubai Airport, including baggage-screening equipment. The Transportation Ministry had said the rescue operation was expected to conclude Thursday, but the latest cancellation puts that timetable in doubt.
