Jerusalem, 21 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Arkia Israel Airlines has stopped selling tickets for flights to Marrakech following a request from Israeli security officials, the airline announced Wednesday, leaving the future of its direct service to Morocco uncertain.
The airline is assessing whether the route can continue and what the suspension means for passengers who have already booked tickets.
“Should Israeli authorities decide to halt flights by Israeli carriers to Marrakech, Arkia is exploring alternative options to maintain the route, including the possibility of operating flights through its commercial partners,” an Arkia spokesperson said.
Arkia restarted its direct service to Marrakech two months ago, ending a three-year break in flights to the Moroccan city.
Separately, Israir suspended ticket sales for Marrakech last week while seeking clarification of new security directives issued by local authorities following the September flydubai incident.
El Al recently announced plans to launch direct flights to Marrakech, but service is not scheduled to begin until Nov. 16.
