TPS: Danon Slams UN Special Rapporteur: This Is No Longer Just Hatred or Incitement, Its a Disease

Jerusalem, 20 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s UN envoy Danny Danon sharply criticized Francesca Albanese, the “Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967,” after she again compared Israeli soldiers to Nazis.
Danon condemned the comparison, saying it crossed another red line, noting, “This is no longer just hatred or incitement, it’s a disease.”
He called on the United Nations to demand that Albanese explain and take responsibility for her remarks, arguing that such statements are incompatible with the responsibilities of a UN-appointed official.
Albanese, an independent expert serving under the UN Human Rights Council’s special procedures, has repeatedly faced criticism from Israeli officials over her statements and reports concerning Israel. She rejects the criticism, saying her work is based on international law and human rights assessments.
