Jerusalem, 3 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Greek bomb disposal personnel conducted emergency searches aboard the Crown Iris cruise ship at the Port of Syros following a bomb threat. Initial inspections yielded no suspicious items.

Operated by Israel’s Mano Maritime and sailing under the Panamanian flag, the liner was preparing to depart for Haifa, Israel, carrying 940 passengers and 597 crew members. Search operations were spearheaded by the Hellenic Port Authority, utilizing specialized K-9 explosive-detection units and maritime divers.

Greek authorities confirmed that the Hellenic Coast Guard’s Underwater Missions Unit was joining the operation to conduct a secondary, comprehensive hull and structural inspection.

The vessel remained docked at Syros while maritime security teams completed thorough safety protocols before granting clearance for the vessel to proceed with its voyage to Israel.
