Jerusalem, 3 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A cruise ship carrying more than 1,500 Israeli passengers was delayed at the Greek port of Syros on Tuesday evening following an anonymous bomb threat, Israeli media reported.
Greek authorities immediately halted the vessel’s departure to Israel after receiving a warning about a possible explosive device in the port area. Emergency personnel launched security sweeps and scans to determine whether the threat was genuine and ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
The ship remained at the port while authorities conducted their checks. The incident comes amid a recent wave of anonymous bomb threats targeting international commercial flights and transportation hubs, raising concerns about the disruption of civilian travel.
