TPS: Policewoman Clings to Suspects Car, Thrown to the Road
An Israeli policewoman was lightly injured in Rishon LeZion after clinging to a fleeing suspect's car door, who is wanted for theft and burglary.
Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An Israeli policewoman was lightly injured Monday night in Rishon LeZion after clinging to the door of a fleeing suspect’s car during an arrest attempt, until she fell onto the road.
According to police, two female officers from the Rishon LeZion station identified the suspect, an Or Yehuda resident in his 20s wanted in connection with several theft and burglary incidents, and asked him to identify himself. When he got into his car and began to flee, one of the officers moved to intercept him and grabbed the car door, but he kept driving with her holding on before she fell.
She was taken for medical treatment; her condition was described as light. Following an extensive search, the suspect was located and arrested for questioning. Police said they intend to request an extension of his remand at the Rishon LeZion Magistrate’s Court.
