Jerusalem, 29 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police reported that a news crew was violently attacked by haredi (ultra-orthodox) “rioters” during draft evasion demonstrations along Route 4 near Bnei Brak, marking a serious escalation in ongoing civil unrest.
A female reporter suffered head injuries after being struck by hurled stones, while her photojournalist was assaulted with an iron bar. Both media personnel retreated to file criminal complaints at the Bnei Brak police station.
The attack occurred as extreme ultra-Orthodox demonstrators blocked major central transportation arteries to protest mandatory military conscription.
