Jerusalem, 30 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The flydubai flight that triggered an emergency alert Wednesday morning while en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv is now expected to land in Saudi Arabia, after turning around over Jordan.
Flight FZ1073 was tracked near Tabuk Airport, where it is expected to land shortly. Israeli security officials said they will have a clearer understanding of the incident once the aircraft is on the ground.
The emergency signal prompted security consultations involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and senior security officials, amid initial concerns that the aircraft could have been hijacked. Reports later indicated that the distress code may have been triggered by a confrontation between the pilots.
