President Herzog Congratulates Moroccos First Female Prime Minister
Israeli President Isaac Herzog congratulated Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, Morocco's first female prime minister, on her historic appointment.
Jerusalem, 30 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Wednesday congratulated Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, Morocco’s first female prime minister, who was appointed by King Mohammed VI on Tuesday.
Herzog wrote: “On behalf of the State of Israel, I extend my warmest congratulations to Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri on her groundbreaking appointment as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. I wish her every success in this role.”
“May we all continue to work together to expand the circle of peace and tolerance in our region,” Herzog added.
El Mansouri, who formerly served as mayor of Marrakesh, has maintained a warm relationship with the local Jewish community. The head of the Jewish community in Marrakesh said she once visited a local synagogue on Yom Kippur, stood in the women’s section, and asked for a blessing.
