Jerusalem, 26 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The government approved a resolution extending the free public transportation benefit for residents evacuated from their homes by an additional two and a half months, keeping it in effect until November 15.

The benefit allows evacuees to travel free of charge and without restriction on all public transportation systems nationwide, including buses, Israel Railways and light rail. The move aims to provide relief to those forced to leave their homes due to the war, allowing full mobility between temporary residences and workplaces, educational institutions, medical services, and essential service centers.

Eligibility is granted to evacuees who have not yet returned to their homes and who have been approved by their local authority and the national digital system.
