Jerusalem, 4 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Sohaib Jabarin, 34, was sentenced to three years in prison under a plea bargain after being convicted of involvement in a crime gang that planned to assassinate members of a rival gang using explosive-laden drones.
The Tel Aviv District Court approved the agreement, which also covered eight other defendants, after prosecutors encountered evidentiary difficulties.
According to the amended indictment, Jabarin directed the assassination plot from a luxury hotel in Herzliya, where he and his associates planned to attack rival gang members amid a territorial dispute over lucrative criminal activities. The gang acquired drones intended to carry fragmentation grenades and explosives, which would be detonated over rival gang compounds.
Seven additional defendants received prison sentences ranging from 30 to 36 months, while another was sentenced to nine months of community service.
