Jerusalem, 12 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli clean energy company Phinergy unveiled a scaled-up aluminum-air generator module for data centers in Wisconsin on October 9, marking progress toward a larger system designed to replace diesel backup generators.

The 72-kilowatt module, with a capacity of 1.4 megawatt-hours, was tested with the Net Zero Innovation Hub for Data Centers, a global consortium. Representatives from US technology giant Microsoft, Denmark’s Danfoss, France’s Schneider Electric and US-based Vertiv attended the test.

The demonstration advances validation of a 500-kilowatt, 10-megawatt-hour system now under assembly. Phinergy’s technology aims to provide emissions-free backup power while improving grid resilience for energy-intensive data centers.
