Jerusalem, 17 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Planning Administration reported that local planning committees issued building permits for approximately 84,400 new housing units in 2025, a record high and an 11.5% increase compared to 2024.
The figures, published in the Administration’s annual report to the Interior Minister, reflect activity across local planning and building committees nationwide.
The rise in permits comes amid ongoing efforts by Israeli authorities to address housing affordability and supply shortages, which have remained significant economic and political concerns in recent years.
