Jerusalem, 8 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Sunday that Iran is renewing its efforts to obtain nuclear weapons, alongside other serious activities that pose a tangible threat to Israel.
Speaking at a memorial ceremony for the fallen of the 1956 Sinai Campaign (Operation Kadesh), Katz said Israel remains determined to act proactively and offensively against its enemies.
“The mission regarding Iran is not yet complete,” he declared, stressing that Israel cannot tolerate the threats and must remain prepared for every scenario.
Katz said Israel would take whatever action necessary to protect its citizens. He also called for national unity ahead of major challenges, urging Israelis to rise above political disagreements when national security is at stake.
“We have one country, one army and a shared destiny,” he said, calling for solidarity and mutual responsibility.
