Jerusalem, 27 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — JERUSALEM — Israeli police and Border Police units have dismantled an organized vehicle theft ring operating between Israel and the Palestinian Areas, following a covert investigation triggered by an IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reservist whose off-road motorcycle was stolen during active military service.
Security forces raided a compound in the West Bank village of Anata, seizing seven stolen motorcycles valued at approximately 400,000 Shekels ($131,000), including the reservist’s vehicle. Authorities arrested two suspects in their 20s from Shuafat and Anata on suspicion of cross-border vehicle theft and trafficking operations.
The investigation revealed a systematic network focused on stealing motorcycles inside Israel for resale across the Palestinian Areas.
