Two Palestinians Arrested for Weapons Production and Possession
Israel Police arrested two Palestinians in Samaria on suspicion of manufacturing and possessing illegal weapons, seizing 10 lathes and a converted replica.
Jerusalem, 26 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Two Palestinians from Samaria were arrested Saturday on suspicion of possessing and manufacturing illegal weapons following an intelligence-led operation by Israel Police’s Judea and Samaria District.
Acting on intelligence from Ariel Police Station, Israel Defense Forces troops from the Samaria Brigade searched a location in the Askar refugee camp. During the search, the forces discovered 10 lathes, a replica firearm converted into a functioning weapon, and additional weapon parts, including a stock and charging handle for an M-16 rifle. They also seized military equipment and additional technological devices.
Police say they continue targeting illegal weapons that criminal or terrorist elements could use for attacks and other activities. The suspects, a 21-year-old Shechem resident and a 37-year-old resident of Rafidia, were taken to Ariel Police Station for questioning.
A court extended their detention until Monday.
