Northern Division Steps Up Golan Readiness with Major Combat Exercise
The IDF's 210th "Bashan" Division completed a large-scale combat exercise in the Golan Heights, bolstering readiness and integrating lessons from recent.
Jerusalem, 3 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Defense Forces’ 210th “Bashan” Division on Thursday completed a large-scale exercise in the Golan Heights and along the Syrian border to improve operational readiness and prepare troops to respond to unexpected and complex incidents.
The exercise involved all division forces, as well as supporting forces from neighboring sectors and the Home Front Command. They worked with local council heads, emergency and rescue services, and other agencies in the area.
The 210th Division entered Syria in December 2024, following the fall of the Assad regime.
This week’s exercise focused on lessons learned from fighting on all fronts, especially from the October 7 attack. It included drills for activating reserve forces, using firepower, deploying special forces, and maintaining high readiness across the IDF.
