Jerusalem, 3 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Tel Aviv District Central Unit (Yamar) detectives arrested a 22-year-old resident of Jaffa Wednesday evening in connection with an August 30 shooting in Jaffa that left one man dead.

Police received a report via the 100 hotline early that morning regarding a shooting incident. Officers arriving at the scene found two men with critical and severe gunshot wounds; the critically injured victim was later pronounced dead at Wolfson Medical Center. A third man, present in the vehicle with the two victims, was arrested near the scene.

According to initial suspicions, a motorcyclist ambushed the victims while they sat in a parked vehicle, opened fire, and fled. During a search of the suspect’s residential area, detectives seized a Sig Sauer handgun, a magazine and ammunition. The suspect was set to appear before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court Thursday for a remand hearing.
