Israeli Northern Command officers warn Hezbollah is adapting tactics and reconstituting guerrilla cells, a potential threat amid ongoing tensions.

Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Northern Command officers are warning that despite the destruction of Hezbollah’s tunnel infrastructure at the Ali al-Taher ridge and the killing of dozens of operatives, the static nature of Israeli deployment in Lebanese territory could prove costly over time, Israeli media reported Tuesday morning.

The officers say intelligence and observation already show Hezbollah studying Israeli tactics and drawing lessons, attempting to reconstitute guerrilla cells under the radar, with the group increasingly relying on drones and fiber-optic-guided systems that proved effective in recent clashes.

The IDF has designated a “kill zone” between Israeli- and Hezbollah-controlled territory, with Northern Command chief Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo warning that anyone entering it will be eliminated.

Officers say Hezbollah, financially strained and lacking strong central leadership, is likely waiting on developments in Iran before deciding its next move. Winter weather could complicate Israeli ground and air operations.
