Jerusalem, 2 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Defense Procurement Directorate and the IDF Ground Forces have signed a 15-year agreement with Elbit Systems to establish an advanced training center for Artillery Corps commanders and soldiers. The facility will prepare personnel to operate two next-generation weapons systems: the SIGMA self-propelled howitzer and the PULS rocket launcher.

The contract is valued at more than NIS 600 million (approximately $190 million) and includes advanced training infrastructure, classrooms, driving and mission simulators, instruction, maintenance, and logistical support.

The center will help prepare the Artillery Corps for full operational deployment of the systems, allowing soldiers to master their capabilities without relying on operational equipment for training. The new approach is expected to shorten qualification times, improve professional standards, and generate significant savings in resources, budgets, and equipment maintenance.
