Jerusalem, 27 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF, Shin Bet, and Border Police, on Tuesday, election day, launched a broad counter-terrorism operation focusing on the demolition of memorials and monuments glorifying terrorists across Judea and Samaria.
The current push is centered around the city of Shechem and its surrounding villages.
As part of these sweeping raids spanning roughly 400 locations, security forces have arrested approximately 40 terror suspects, including operatives affiliated with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The ongoing operations also include weapons sweeps and the confiscation of terror funds.
This offensive follows a detailed mapping of dozens of incitement sites provided to military leadership by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and MK Zvi Sukkot. Among the targeted structures is a prominent monument in Madama, which had previously drawn widespread public attention.
During the raids, security forces left warning leaflets for local residents, emphasizing that Israel will no longer tolerate the public glorification of terrorism.
