Jerusalem, 30 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An IDF Humvee disappeared from a military reserve unit’s equipment depot at Camp Julis in southern Israel, prompting an extensive search and a military police investigation.
Commanders discovered the vehicle missing during a routine inspection on Thursday and immediately notified the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division (MPCID). Searches throughout the base and surrounding area failed to locate it.
The battalion was placed under a lockdown preventing personnel from leaving, while security cameras were reviewed, nearby bases searched, and a drone deployed to scan the area.
The disappearance has raised concerns that the stolen vehicle could be used in an attempted infiltration of IDF bases or military training grounds.
The IDF Spokesperson said military police would continue efforts to combat thefts of military equipment and weapons and bring those responsible to justice, if identified.
