Joint Statement from theand the Shin Bet Spokesperson: Another circle closed: The commander of the Rafah Brigade who was eliminated was involved in the holding of IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians captive by Hamas. After extensive intelligence research conducted by the bodies, the IDF and the Shin Bet are now revealing that the commander of the Rafah Brigade, the terrorist Na’el Abu Abed, who was eliminated this week (Tuesday) in the Gaza Strip, was involved in the abduction and holding of IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians for years and during the war. In 2014, Na’el Abu Abed was the deputy commander of the Rafah Brigade and took part in the holding of the late Lieutenant Hadar Goldin captive by Hamas. Throughout the war, Abu Abed took part in the holding of several hostages, including Sergeant Nimrod Cohen, within an underground infrastructure in the Rafah area.
