Security forces conduct extensive defense exercise in Eilat and Arava, practicing surprise attacks and inter-organizational cooperation.
Starting today (Sunday), heavy movement of Security forces, aircraft, and naval vessels will be felt. during the exercise, forces will practice a variety of scenarios including a surprise attack and infiltration into Israeli territory – by air, sea, and land. The exercise will test the defense of communities and the Eilat urban area, the readiness of forces, and the utilization of air and naval capabilities for defense in the area. In addition, inter-organizational cooperation will be practiced, including with Israel Police and Magen David Adom forces, and multi-branch cooperation between ground forces, the Air Force, and Navy forces in the area. The exercise is part of an ongoing process of strengthening fitness and readiness, during which lessons learned from combat and security events in recent years are also examined. Last week, an exercise was conducted in the Golan Heights area aimed at strengthening fitness and readiness for complex surprise attacks. The exercises allow for a systematic and in-depth examination of the response to a variety of scenarios, for the security of the region’s residents. This exercise was predetermined as part of the Operations Directorate’s exercise schedule for 2026.
