The Golani Brigade Combat Team forces, under the command of the 36th Division, operated in the security zone in southern Lebanon to neutralize threats to the State of Israel, and are now exiting for a period of rest and recuperation.
Over the past few months, the forces operated in the Beaufort Ridge area and recently completed a targeted operation to destroy terrorist infrastructure in the Litani River area. The forces destroyed over 900 pieces of terrorist infrastructure used by Hezbollah and located weapons caches containing: ‘RPG’ rockets, explosive devices, explosive drones, and ‘Kalashnikov’ type weapons.
The commander of the Golani Brigade, Colonel Ido Keif, spoke: “During these months, we operated under the spirit of Golani. In Golani, we always win, we don’t return without accomplishing the mission, we never break, commanders are approachable, we preserve the heroism and legacy of the fallen, and remain human – even in the face of the enemy.”
“This is how we operated and this is how we will continue to operate. The fighting in these months came at a heavy price, which we paid, but there is also reward. Look around you: communities that are living their lives and celebrating holidays, businesses that are open, and kindergartens continuing their routines. This is what we fought for, and what we continue to fight for.”
