Hezbollah Launches Explosive Drones at Israeli Military, Strikes Launched in Response
Hezbollah launched explosive drones at IDF forces in southern Lebanon Sunday; Israel intercepted one and retaliated with strikes.
Jerusalem, 6 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Hezbollah terrorists launched two explosive drones Sunday morning toward IDF forces holding positions in the security zone in southern Lebanon. Troops fired at one of the drones and intercepted it. No IDF casualties were reported.
The IDF described the incident as a blatant violation by Hezbollah and said it is currently conducting strikes in Southern Lebanon in response.
The military said it will continue operating in the Security zone to remove any threat to Israeli citizens and IDF troops, and will continue acting forcefully against Hezbollah’s repeated attempts to harm its forces.
