Jerusalem, 20 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Tekuma (Rebirth) Directorate and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure launched a 115 million shekels ($31 million) joint initiative to establish revenue-generating energy projects across Gaza envelope municipalities.
The program aims to bolster regional economic resilience and long-term independence following wartime rehabilitation.
Local authorities in the Tekuma region will receive funding to construct municipal renewable energy generation assets and resilience infrastructure, designed to lower energy overhead while providing new recurring municipal revenues.
Applications open through November 2026, with approved projects required to achieve full operational status within 36 months. Officials noted that the strategy transitions the border region from immediate recovery toward sustainable economic growth.
