Jerusalem, 29 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli police have arrested four additional suspects in an election bribery investigation involving the United Arab List (Ra’am), including three school principals from Tel Sheva and Shaqib al-Salam. Three of the four were subsequently released to house arrest.
Lahav 433 investigators arrested three other suspects on Election Day on suspicion of election bribery and conspiracy to commit a crime. Ibrahim al-Gribi, 42, Hussein Masoudin, 63, and physician Sayaf Abu Riyash, 38, were identified as suspects. A court extended the detention of the first two until Sunday. Abu Riyash was initially released to house arrest, but police appealed, and his detention was also extended.
Israeli media reported allegations that Arab parties, particularly Ra’am, offered financially struggling residents NIS 200–300 ($55–85) in exchange for electoral support, while some drivers received NIS 100 ($28) fuel vouchers allegedly for transporting voters.
