Jerusalem, 4 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s gasoline price will fall by NIS 0.50 ($0.16) per liter at midnight on Sunday, dropping from NIS 8.27 ($2.70) to NIS 7.77 ($2.54) for 95-octane gasoline at self-service stations, including VAT.
The reduction follows an additional cut in the fuel excise tax approved by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
The lower price will take effect Monday, October 5, and remain in place through the end of October. The measure comes just four days after gasoline prices rose by 52 agorot, driven by a roughly 13% increase in international gasoline prices and a 3% strengthening of the dollar.
Drivers will save NIS 20 ($6.54) on a 40-liter fill-up and NIS 25 ($8.17) on 50 liters. The latest reduction is expected to cost the state approximately NIS 150 million ($49 million) in lost tax revenue.
