TPS: Israels Culture, Entertainment, and Sports Spending Hits $27 Billion in 2025
Israel's culture, entertainment, and sports spending hit $27 billion in 2025, with sports and games comprising the largest share.
Jerusalem, 14 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported that national spending on culture, entertainment, and sports reached 101.9 billion shekels (about $27 billion) in 2025, equivalent to 4.8% of GDP. Spending rose 1.0% in real terms, slowing from a 2.0% increase in 2024.
Sports and games Accounted for the largest share of spending, at 24.5% of the total. The business sector remained the primary provider of related services and products, supplying 66.0% of the total.
Households funded 85.1% of overall spending in the sector, up slightly from 84.7% in 2024 and 81.8% in 2023, reflecting a growing share of costs borne directly by consumers.
