TPS: Israels Rafael to Integrate SPICE 1000 Weapon With F-35
Israel's Rafael is integrating its SPICE 1000 weapon with the F-35 fighter jet in a joint project with Lockheed Martin, enhancing Israeli Air Force.
Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is integrating its SPICE 1000 precision-guided air-to-surface weapon with the F-35 fighter jet in a joint project with U.S. defense giant Lockheed Martin. The integration is expected to be completed within months, enabling Israeli F-35 aircraft to carry and deploy the weapon.
SPICE 1000 is designed to strike fixed and strategic targets at ranges exceeding 120 kilometers, using an electro-optical seeker and advanced image-matching algorithms for autonomous guidance. The weapon is already operational with several air Forces and has been used extensively by the Israeli Air Force. The system was presented at the 2026 Air, Space & Cyber Conference near Washington D.C.
