It is suspected that the incidents occurred against the backdrop of a dispute between criminals, with the arsons directed at a resident of Tel Aviv (41). On 10/26/12, during covert activity, detectives from the Tel Aviv Central Unit and officers from the Tel Aviv Special Patrol Unit succeeded in arresting two suspects (Hadera, 43, Rehovot, 20s) on suspicion of carrying out the arsons. During the investigation, investigators from the Central Unit and the Tel Aviv South station managed to identify an additional suspect who, it is suspected, orchestrated the perpetrators and sent them to carry out the arsons. The suspect (Ashdod, 24) was transferred for investigation at the Central Unit. Yesterday, with developments in the investigation, Central Unit officers arrested another suspect (Tel Aviv, 30s) who, it is suspected, was involved with the three arrested individuals in serious incidents of extortion by threats and extortion by force. It is suspected that the suspects contacted many men through the Telegram application and arranged to meet them for “intimate encounters” with a minor. After the men arrived at the meeting apartments, the suspects severely attacked them and demanded hundreds of thousands of shekels from them, while threatening them. The investigation is ongoing.
