Israel Police: Jerusalem District police officers arrested a suspect in the assault of a minor, approximately 9 years old, on Yom Kippur

Investigators conducted extensive investigative actions and collected evidence from the scene, including arriving at the location and reconstructing the incident with the minor’s father. Following intelligence gathering operations, the suspect’s identity was identified. He had been staying in the Northern part of the country in recent days and was arrested a short time ago by the officers. The suspect is currently being brought to the Lev HaBira station in Jerusalem, where he is expected to be interrogated throughout the night regarding the motive and circumstances that led to the attack. Depending on the developments and the findings of the investigation, the police will examine bringing him before the court tomorrow for a hearing on a request to extend his detention.
